ISRO/IIRS, Department of Space, Govt of India is organising Training workshop on Bhuvan-Panchayat Portal and Mobile Application for Asset mapping on 27.07.16.

Web based interface for mapping of the available assets, planning of activities, implementation and monitoring.There should be an interface for planning the activities and also choice of activities in a menu driven system for selection of activities by the PRIs in different schemes of central and state government at three levels of PRIs. For this, integration of Sectors and Schemes by Department

Wise/Scheme Wise/ Sector Wise and their spatial coverage is required.The facility for mapping of the available assets to be provided to PRIs for database collection and use in planning. This workshop will create an enabling environment for students and faculties to have fairly good introduction to spatial organisation of data.

Students and Faculty of Department of Development Policy and Practice & LGD of RGNIYD is Participating in this web based workshop.

Prime Minister to Flag off “Run for Rio” on 31st July, 2016 in New Delhi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off RUN FOR RIO on 31 July 2016 in New Delhi. This was announced by Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Vijay goel at a press conference on 25th July, 2016. Shri Vijay Goel said that with a view to celebrate the Olympic mood, especially when India is sending its largest ever contingent of 119 athletes, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) through the Sports Authority of India (SAI) is organizing a Mass Run called “Run for Rio” on 31st July, 2016 at 7:00 a.m.

He said around 20,000 school children will participate in the Run, which will be flagged off by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. He also informed that the Run will commence from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium (MDCNS), India Gate, and conclude at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JNS), Lodhi Road. New Delhi.
